The Inter-Gateway Haulage (IGH) driver role is one of the most important positions in Singapore's port logistics ecosystem. IGH drivers are responsible for transporting containers between different PSA port terminals, ensuring the smooth flow of goods through Singapore's world-class port infrastructure.
What is Inter-Gateway Haulage?
Inter-Gateway Haulage refers to the movement of shipping containers between different port terminals within PSA's network. This includes routes between PSA's main terminals and the new Tuas Mega Port. As Singapore transitions more operations to Tuas, the demand for skilled IGH drivers continues to grow.
Job Scope
As an IGH Driver with Hoysan Stevedoring, your primary responsibility is to truck containers from port to port — PSA to Tuas, Tuas to PSA, and vice versa. You will also handle movements within the port, including Wharf to Yard, Yard to Wharf, and vice versa. Drivers follow job assignments through the PC promptly, communicate effectively with the transport team, and adhere to road safety and regulations at all times.
Working Hours
IGH drivers work 12-hour shifts with a 1-hour meal break. Day shifts run from 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM, and night shifts run from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM. The shift schedule rotates between day and night shifts to ensure fair distribution among all drivers.
Salary Structure
The IGH driver position offers a monthly-rated package with multiple earning components. The fixed daily rate is $72 per day. Working 22 days qualifies you for the safety incentive of $500 and attendance incentive of $1,000. Additional day incentives apply for the 23rd day ($120), 24th day ($135), and 25th day ($150).
Trip Incentives
One of the most attractive aspects of the IGH driver role is the stackable trip incentive system. Starting at 60 trips per month, you earn $275. Each additional tier adds more — from $100 for 61-70 trips up to $600 for 121+ trips. A driver completing 120 trips in a month can earn $2,075 in trip incentives alone.
Loyalty Incentive
Drivers who maintain 22 working days per month are eligible for a $500 monthly loyalty incentive. The payout for the first 3 months is paid in the following 3 months, providing a steady additional income stream for committed drivers.
Total Earning Potential
With 22 worked days and 120 trips, an IGH driver can expect a total gross income of approximately $5,659 per month. Working 25 days with the same trip performance can push earnings to $6,280 or more. These figures make the IGH driver role one of the most competitive driving positions in Singapore.
How to Apply
To apply for the IGH driver position, you need a valid Class 4 or 5 driving license and must be deemed medically fit by the company doctor.
